#4: Heavy Duty Tilting TV Wall Mount

This TV wall mount is great for budget-minded people and is about “no-frills” as it gets. It works with a TV from 37 to 80 inches in size. Unfortunate, it is not UL-approved and the instructions are confusing. The metal of the brackets is a little thinner, the tilt tension knob is not as nice, it only tilts back a minimal three degrees (it can tilt forward 15 degrees), and the unlocking cords that hang down from behind the TV are hard to hide. It needs accurate installation because there are no post-installation adjustments so it is recommended not to rely on the level during installation. In short, does not have many features to be added.

#3: Sanus VLT6 Advanced Tilt

This TV wall mount has the ability to angle the TV from side to side a little. It offers plenty of advanced features that some other models do not have. This UL-approved mount has a weight rating of 150 pounds, good for TVs sized between 46 and 90 inches, and supports nine VESA patterns. An advanced feature is is that the monitor brackets contain high-quality scissor hinges that let you tilt the TV up and down, as with the other brackets, but it can also be pulled straight out from the wall to a distance of over 5½ inches. The second good feature is that they provide a large amount or working room for wiring. Also, they can be pulled out unevenly, so one side is further away from the wall than the other, effectively angling the TV to the side. There are two plastic tabs are pulled from below the TV to unlock the TV from the wall mount. It is also compatible with metal studs compared to other mounts that do not recommend mounting to metal studs. The only con to this is that the price is quite expensive.

#2: Peerless ST650P Universal Tilt

This TV wall mount sits more than 2½ inches out from the wall. It is UL-approved and has a weight rating of 150 pounds, fits seven VESA patterns – coming with seven bolt sizes for the monitor mount – and it is compatible with TVs ranging in size from 39 to 75 inches. It can tilt 15 degrees forward and five degrees back which means there is a little more room to maneuver behind the TV if you have rear-facing ports but there would be a big gap between the wall and the TV. It features tilt preset positions at the -5, 0, 5, 10, and 15-degree marks yet you can lock it in and not have to rely on the tilt tension knobs for security. The monitor brackets lock into the wall plate with screws (compatible with the hex key). Unfortunately, the directions are difficult to understand the unseparated 10 different languages.

#1: Sanus VMPL50A-B1

This TV wall mount is the #1 tilting TV mount on our list for the best TV wall mounts you can buy. Its UL-approved mount is designed for TVs ranging in size from 32 to 70 inches and can hold up to 130 pounds. It has the thinnest profiles that hold the back of the TV about a 1¾-inch off the wall. The tilt tension knobs, which set the tightness of the tilting action, can be adjusted by hand, but they can also be adjusted with the supplied hex wrench if there’s not enough room which is harder for large TVs. It is compatible with 22 VESA patterns and came with 10 different bolt sizes. It can tilt 9 degrees forward and 10 degrees back. To adjust the side-to-side level of the TV, you can use the same hex key. The process of installation is the same with all of the other models. Its brackets lock in place with an audible click. Plus, it can be mounted into a wood stud or into masonry, such as a brick wall.
